I know, 2020 was one hell of a year we will never forget. But if you’re like me, I like to note certain events with an ornament. I found a lot of funny, creative Christmas ornaments commemorating 2020 I will hang on my tree forever. Let’s remember all we’ve been through together.
I also know hundreds of thousands of families have lost loved ones to Covid.
I don’t mean any disrespect or to diminish the pain you are experiencing. It was indeed a year of unimaginable heartbreak. But I believe a little laughter can help us all not to fall into the abyss.
Most of these ornaments can be found on ETSY, a website I love because it supports small businesses.
This first of many ornaments commemorating 2020 is simple, but makes the point, doesn’t it?
This one kind of says it all. Dr. Fauchi showed up on many Christmas ornaments commemorating 2020, celebrating the facepalm that may have been used by everyone 10 trillion times this year.
Of course, there are lots of covid-shaped ornaments, but this one is particularly detailed and expressive.
This 2020 Bingo Card ornament deserves a second look. The writing captured the funnier, more human moments we all had this year, like Murder Hornets we may have forgotten about.
Masks are everywhere. This handmade assortment is a wonderful addition to any collection.
They even included a roll of toilet paper.
Another festive example of a masked character. He does look a bit scared as gingerbread men usually do.
Rudolph got in the action this year.
Santa is practicing safety guidelines this year too. He does not want to be a super-spreader.
This one is my favorite. The writing gave me a hearty ho-ho-ho. Kudos to the creative director who designed this one for the year of Pur Hell.
Another classic 2020 Christmas ornament, this bottle is beautifully executed.
Quotes are a big theme for ornaments this year.
Here are a few of my favorites from a few of my favorite people.
Of course, since the toilet paper crisis started the year off, there are lots of festive ornaments featuring this once scarce household necessity. Thank goodness we survived it.
I debated where to put this one, and decided it should go with the other toilet paper ornament because the roll has a dual purpose as a sled and as the 0 in 2020.
I included this one because the roll is actually on a wire so it must actually unroll. Combined with the traditional wreath, I thought this one is a keeper.
Yes, 2020 was indeed a dumpster fire. I found a lot of ornaments with this theme. Some even light up to give that holiday glow to your tree. I got one of those.
One more Dr. Fauchi ornament. I included this one because I love the way they incorporated his name in the snowflake shape.
Dr Fauchi once more. I bought one of these personalized ornaments and added my own message. These will make a great gift to anyone who loves science and has a sense of humor.
To all, I wish you a safe, healthy holiday season. I hope next year we can hug one another, kiss one another and gather together. I aim to be patient while there is still danger. It won’t be forever, just for now.
Meanwhile, remember loved ones while you light the Menorah, dress your tree, or celebrate in any way that feels good to you.
