Our work
What We Did
Network 9’s site for this up-and-coming company serves as a wake-up gram for the entire hosting and colocation category. It seems like all Datagram’s competitors feature the same images of servers and sockets. To help our client stand out, Network 9 featured full-frame images that we textured, cropped and boldly colorized. That was coupled with audacious customer quotes that project the Datagram story in a believable and compelling way.
The Problem It Solved
To effectively compete in the cutthroat category of hosting & colocation, our client had to go against the grain. Network 9 guided Datagram to a design and messaging strategy that cuts right through the host-alike mentality and positions them perfectly with their target—cool media companies like Gawker and The Huffington Post. The graphic, stripped-down, posterized look was dead-on for the market. Message-wise the quote approach gave them a bright, shiny face in an expressionless category and highlighted the personal approach that sets Datagram apart.
Results
The site puts Datagram in a league of its own—something we strive to do with every client. From a branding perspective, Datagram’s online presence now integrates with their wider “Love Your Host” campaign. By paralleling the voice and theme of their offline materials, our client will benefit from synergies that are sure to serve them well into the future.
